Postpartum Support
Traditional In-Home Doula Care for the Fourth Trimester
Best for families within the first 4 months after birth
Because letโs be real: bringing home a baby is magicalโฆ and completely overwhelming. Thereโs joy, exhaustion, love, maybe a little grief, and definitely a lot of โwhat the heck am I doing?โ
You donโt have to figure it out alone.
In-home postpartum support gives you expert, hands-on help in those raw, beautiful, sleep-deprived first months โ whether youโre navigating recovery, feeding struggles, or just trying to remember the last time you ate something warm.
With over a decade of experience, I help families feel less frazzled and more held during this major transition โ emotionally, physically, and logistically.

โMothering the Motherโ Isnโt Just a Saying โ Itโs a Plan
Your body just did something incredible. Now you deserve to recover in peace, with expert support that helps you focus on healing and bonding instead of just surviving.
โNew mothers need to be mothered, to be nurtured and cared for by a support network that assists with physical recovery from birth, transition into infant care and the immense psychological leap into a new role.โ

From emotional check-ins and baby care tips to light chores and feeding support, I bring expert guidance and real-life help โ so you can feel less overwhelmed and more confident in those tender early weeks. Basically? I mother you so you can focus on loving your baby.

Every familyโs needs are different โ and thatโs the beauty of doula care. I show up ready to meet your unique situation with the kind of hands-on help and emotional support that makes a real difference.
Here are just a few things I might help with during a shift:
โ Supporting infant and parent sleep patterns (without pressure or gimmicks)
โ Feeding help โ whether thatโs breastfeeding, bottle, or combo
โ Recovery tips for your healing body (yes, even the parts no one talks about)
โ Newborn care guidance and confidence-building
โ Gentle check-ins for postpartum mood concerns
โ Local referrals for lactation, therapy, bodywork, and more
โ Light housekeeping, laundry, and meal prep โ including cultural/religious traditions
โ Sibling support (because big feelings happen!)
โ Baby gear suggestions that actually work for your lifestyle
Basically, if it helps you feel calmer, more supported, or better rested โ Iโm in.

Emotional support means Iโm your safe space when everything feels like a lot โ which, letโs be honest, is often.
Iโm here to hold space for the tears, the joy, the โwhat just happened?โ moments, and everything in between. That might look like helping you process your birth experience, normalize what youโre feeling as a new parent, or just sitting with you while you cry into your cold coffee.
No judgment. No advice unless you want it. Just someone who gets it walking alongside you while we figure it out together. Because the road to parenthood isnโt always smooth โ but you donโt have to walk it alone.
-
Every shift starts with a check-in โ we chat about how youโre doing (really doing), what baby needs, and whatโs feeling overwhelming today. Then we make a loose plan for how I can be most helpful in this moment.
Sometimes that means holding the baby while you nap or shower. Other times itโs talking through feeding challenges, tidying up the kitchen, prepping a snack, or just being there so youโre not doing it all alone.
No two shifts look the same โ because no two days in postpartum life are the same. I show up ready to meet you exactly where youโre at, with support thatโs flexible, responsive, and deeply human.
-
At the start of our shift, we usually spend about an hour checking in โ talking through how things are going, how youโre feeling, and reviewing the feeding plan for the night (whether thatโs nursing, bottles, pumping, or a combo).
As we settle into a rhythm, that check-in might shrink to a quick 5-minute handoff so you can get right to sleep โ and Iโll handle the rest.
Once youโre off-duty, I take over baby care so you can rest, recover, and maybe even dream. Iโll keep track of feeds, diaper changes, and anything worth noting so youโre in the loop without having to be awake for it.
In the morning, Iโll either gently transition things back to you (quietly, of course) or leave an update via note, baby log, or text if youโre still catching those precious last Zzzs. And yes โ I lock the door behind me and sneak out like a postpartum fairy godmother.
-
Short answer: sometimes โ but only if everything else is under control.
Between feedings, diaper changes, soothing, bottle/pump part washing, laundry, and whatever else your baby or home needs, thereโs often not much downtime. But if all the tasks are caught up and baby is settled, Iโll rest lightly while staying available for the next wake-up.
A couch, spare bed, or even a mattress pad on the floor is more than enough โ Iโm not looking for luxury, just a spot to recharge so I can stay sharp and responsive for your little one.
My priority is always babyโs care and your rest. If I can sneak in a little sleep between those responsibilities, I will โ but Iโm always โonโ for anything your family needs overnight.
-
Itโs a fair question โ and hereโs the honest answer: Youโre not just paying for someone to hold the baby while you shower (though, yes, thatโs part of the magic). Youโre investing in expert, personalized care for one of the most intense transitions of your life.
In the Seattle/Tacoma area, postpartum doulas typically charge $40โ$75/hour โ and hereโs why:
