Meet Doula Deb

Back in 2008, I found my calling, and there was no turning back.

Within three months of discovering the world of birth and postpartum work, I dove headfirst into doula training and left behind a successful career to follow what I knew, deep in my bones, was my purpose.

Since then, this work has shaped not just my career, but my life.

Now, as a parent myself, I know firsthand how overwhelming, isolating, and beautiful this transition into parenthood can be. I’ve seen the cracks in our system, the moments where families fall through, under-supported and overextended, and I’ve made it my mission to help close that gap.

You deserve expert guidance, steady support, and someone who truly sees you and I’m here to offer exactly that.

What I believe…

  • I believe that every family, no matter their background, identity, or circumstance, deserves unwavering support during the wild, beautiful, and deeply transformative journey of parenthood.

  • I believe that real perinatal care goes beyond birth. It starts long before labor and continues well after the meal trains end through sleepless nights, shifting identities, and big emotional waves.

  • I believe that support isn’t one-size-fits-all. Every family is different, and care should reflect that. Tailored, personal, and centered on your unique values and needs.

  • I believe in nurturing confidence, not just babies. When families are given real tools, solid information, and compassionate guidance, they thrive and so do their children.

  • I believe in creating environments where parents are held, not judged. Where rest, healing, and joy are possible, and where the messy middle is met with grace and good support.

  • I believe in staying curious and always learning. This field is evolving, and so am I. I invest in continuing education so that I can provide up-to-date, evidence-based care, while also respecting tradition, intuition, and lived experience.

  • I believe that when we bridge the gap in perinatal care, we’re not just helping parents. We’re creating healthier families, stronger communities, and a better world for the next generation.

  • I believe that compassion, community, and personalized care aren’t just nice-to-haves; they’re essential.

  • And I believe that when we come together, doulas, birth workers, parents, and advocates, we can create real, lasting change. One family at a time.

My Mission & Vision

At the heart of my work is a simple but powerful belief: every family deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered through the journey of parenthood.

I started this work because I saw the gap, the space where families were left to navigate pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and early parenthood without enough guidance or care. My mission is to bridge that gap with compassion, personalized support, and evidence-based knowledge that meets families exactly where they are.

This isn’t just about birth or the first few weeks postpartum.

This is about the entire perinatal experience, from that first positive test through the fog of sleep deprivation and into the messy, beautiful first year (and beyond).

I believe support should be as unique as the families I serve because no two journeys into parenthood look the same. My goal is to provide care that honors your values, your instincts, and your needs while giving you the tools and confidence to trust yourself every step of the way.

A Vision for a Better World, One Family at a Time

My vision is bold and heartfelt: a world where families feel deeply supported, emotionally nourished, and truly empowered from the very beginning.

I believe that when we care for families during this critical window, when the foundation of life is being laid, we create ripples that strengthen entire communities.

Imagine a world where:

  • New parents feel confident, not just exhausted

  • Babies are welcomed into calm, well-supported homes

  • Emotional well-being is prioritized as much as physical healing

  • Families are celebrated, not left to figure it out alone

That’s the world I’m working toward. One family, one conversation, one well-supported nap at a time.

A man with glasses and a beard carrying two children on his shoulders in a backyard with a white fence and trees, during sunny weather.
Multiple people from the back standing in a line, hugging each other in a gesture of discomfort, in black and white.

The village it takes to raise a family? Yeah, that’s not built in anymore, but that doesn’t mean you have to go it alone.

In today’s world, we have to create our own village. The good news? You get to decide who’s in it. You get to choose support that actually feels supportive and it’s never too late to build the kind of care network your family deserves.

Experience & Education

With over 15 years of experience as a doula, and as a parent myself, I’ve seen a lot. From pregnancy aches to sleep-deprived nights, from birth plans to feeding plans, I’ve walked alongside families through just about every twist and turn early parenthood can throw at you.

Here’s what I bring to the table (besides snacks and strong support):

Pregnancy Support

  • Managing the physical ups and downs, from sciatica to heartburn

  • Nutrition guidance for pregnancy, postpartum, and infant stages

  • Support for baby-led weaning and feeding readiness

Birth Prep & Labor Support

  • Custom coping strategies for labor, breath work, mindset, movement, and more

  • Education around all your options: epidurals, unmedicated birth, C-sections, home births, and birth centers

  • Helping you feel prepped and powerful no matter where (or how) you birth

Postpartum & Newborn Care

  • Planning for your fourth trimester so you don’t just “survive” it

  • Creating a nurturing home environment (including healthy boundaries with the in-laws 🙃)

  • Feeding support: breast/chest, bottle, formula, combo. We’ll figure out what works for you

  • Baby care basics: swaddling, bathing, soothing, diapering (yes, I do cloth too!)

Specialized Support

  • Navigating reflux, allergies, and skin sensitivities

  • Tongue and lip ties (and how to advocate for treatment)

  • Sleep challenges, from the newborn stage up to age three

  • Holistic support including craniosacral therapy, chiropractic care, herbal remedies, and naturopathic approaches

I work with families who want to feel informed, empowered, and supported without judgment or overwhelm. Whether you’re prepping for birth or knee-deep in diapers, I’m here to walk beside you with real-life wisdom, evidence-based guidance, and unwavering care.
